Located on Bloomfield Street, Cleveland, South East Queensland (SEQ) – these sculptures, murals, art features, poetry trail dotted along street; in unassuming manner … creating special interest on life – stroll along and find out.
Cleveland Public Library
Start from Cleveland library – prominent location, T-section between Middle and Bloomfield Streets; – colourful, vibrant, full of information for keen, young minds; refresher for mature minds …
Hard to miss the very large wall mural – created in 2017 by mother-daughter artists, Sandra and Shara Delaney entitled “Dabibahnba” (Place of Saltwater); in association with mentoring artists Matthew Newkirk, Deb Mostert and project curator Craig Flood.
Always admired mural whilst walking along street …
Library entrance continues with marine theme – beautiful window features, decorative library box and library locker … simply gorgeous !
Another piece by same artists – Quandamookajen Yarabinjara” build upon original 2017 mural – equally dramatic, sits on side wall of library, unveiled in 2024.
Sit, relax, have a cup of coffee from library café and admire mural details on wall …
In terrace courtyard beside Library are corner ceramic tiles in planter boxes – way of life along coastal shores; marine life, Redland landscapes …
You just have to check them out, spend time to make own interpretations !
Redland Art Gallery
Across road is the Redland Art Gallery (RAG) – be mesmerized by display panels in front of gallery and don’t forget the side wall mural – just amazing !
Moving around corner of gallery are first of several Poetry Trail stones … small fountain nearby – contemporary artworks, inscribed poetry honoring prominent figures like Oodgeroo Noonuccal – embedded along street.
Redland Shire Council Frontage
Small courtyard in front of Redland Council building where you can rest your weary feet and admire the stone sculptures of local natives, more poetry trail stones …
At pedestrian crossing, don’t forget to take in the ceramic tiles along either side of concrete planter boxes – not only providing shade under Queensland sun; but also depicts significant events …

David Renn Street Sculptures
Redland based artist, David Renn, commissioned by council, created these street sculptures – installed in 1993; part of Bloomfield Streetscape project …
These art pieces are dotted along street together with poetry trail stones … all yours to investigate at leisure !
Children’s playground – soft-textured, colourful materials used to avoid mishaps … most popular with kids of all ages; seldom unused, with ample seating for parents too.
